A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes

I L-O-V-E this story. Everybody should get ice-cream some day, some time.
Last week, I took my grand-children to a restaurant.
My six-year-old grand-son asked if he could say grace.
As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Nana gets us ice cream for dessert. And liberty and justice for all! Amen!"

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!"

Hearing this, my grand-son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?"
As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table.

He winked at my grand-son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer."
"Really?" my grand-son asked.
"Cross my heart," the man replied.

Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing),

"Too bad she never asks God for ice cream.

A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."
Naturally, I bought my grandson and grand children some ice cream at the end of the meal.

My grand-son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the rest of my life. He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman.

With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already."

The End
I love this story!
Please keep it moving. Sometimes, we all need some ice cream.

I hope God sends you some ice cream today!

Why China is shining!

IT IS NOT A STORY BUT A TRUE INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED IN AMERICA

A Chinaman walked into a bank in New York City and asked for the loan officer.
He told the loan officer that he was going to China on business for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000.
The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan, so the Chinaman handed over the keys to a new Ferrari parked on the street in front of the bank.

He produced the title and everything checked out.
The loan officer agreed to accept the car as collateral for the loan.

The bank's president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the Chinaman for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral against a $5,000 loan.

An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank's underground garage and parked it there.

Two weeks later, the Chinaman returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest, which came to $15.41.
The loan officer said, "Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled.
While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multi millionaire.
What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?”

The Chinaman replied: "Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return?”

Ah, the mind of a Chinaman ..... This is why China is shining !
