A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes

I L-O-V-E this story. Everybody should get ice-cream some day, some time.
Last week, I took my grand-children to a restaurant.
My six-year-old grand-son asked if he could say grace.
As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Nana gets us ice cream for dessert. And liberty and justice for all! Amen!"

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!"

Hearing this, my grand-son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?"
As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table.

He winked at my grand-son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer."
"Really?" my grand-son asked.
"Cross my heart," the man replied.

Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing),

"Too bad she never asks God for ice cream.

A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."
Naturally, I bought my grandson and grand children some ice cream at the end of the meal.

My grand-son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the rest of my life. He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman.

With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already."

The End
I love this story!
Please keep it moving. Sometimes, we all need some ice cream.

I hope God sends you some ice cream today!

A Toyota that will never be recalled!

This wonderful TOYOTA needs no annual inspection certificate.
Needs no petrol or gasoline to run.
Needs no Driving licence.
Provides an open air concept and eco-friendly way of transportation.
The team of "drivers" need not be paid.
How I wish we can have more of them around my neighbourhood instead of the
punks zooming at breakneck speed in their souped up cars all over the place.

Never, ever be late...esp if you are a politician!

A priest was being honoured at his retirement dinner after 35 years in the parish.
A leading local politician and member of the congregation was chosen to give a little speech at the dinner.

However, the politician was delayed, so the priest decided to say his own few words while they waited:
"I got my first impression of the parish from the very first confession I heard here. I thought I had been assigned to a terrible place. The very first person who entered my confessional told me he had stolen a television set and, when questioned by the police, was able to lie his way out of it.He had also stolen money from his parents, embezzled from his employer, had an affair with his boss's wife, taken illegal drugs, and gave VD to his sister. I was appalled.
But as the days went on I learned that my people were not all like that and I had, indeed, come to a fine parish full of good and loving people."

Just as the priest finished his talk, the politician arrived and showed his grand entrance, full of apologies at being late.
He immediately began to make the presentation and gave his talk:
"I'll never forget the first day our parish priest arrived,' said the politician. 'In fact, I had the honour of being the first person to go to him for confession.'

Moral of the story :
Never, never, never be late,.. more so if you are a politician'
